Glide along on the spectacular ice rink with the Manhattan skyline providing your backdrop ... then there's only one place for lunch, in the glass-enclosed splendour of the Tavern on the Green. Finally, cosy up under a nice warm rug as you tour around the Park by horse-drawn carriage.

Native New Yorkers have a soft spot for Central Park. While the rest of the city is crowded, here is a place where you can still enjoy a quiet moment of solitude or romance amongst surprisingly large parklands filled with trees and lakes.

Wollman Skating Rink is one of New York City's most popular recreation facilities. During the winter holiday season, tourists flock to skate on the famous ice rink.

Tavern on the Green, a grand caf overlooking Central Park, is one of New York's most dazzling dining experiences - a real show-stopper overflowing with crystal chandeliers, hand-carved mirrors and stained glass. Nestled in its own magical gardens, Tavern on the Green exists in a fantasy setting.

One of the most romantic and popular ways to see Central Park is from a horse-drawn carriage. Visitors enjoy this year-round, even during the winter months.

The carriages can be found lined up along Central Park South (59th Street) between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, at the southern end of Central Park across from the Plaza Hotel.
