The caravan park is located in Busselton, a town at the entrance of Western Australia's famous Margaret River region.

Here visitors can take day trips to the caves, surf beaches and go to the vineyards - but more often than not, visitors who come to Mandalay won't want to leave.

Mandalay Holiday Resort is a family owned and operated resort that has been providing family style holidays for over 40 years.

In 1979 owners Clive and Margaret bought the property off their parents, and as a result of their efforts, Mandalay became the first caravan park in Western Australia to be accredited with a 5-star rating.

Mandalay sets itself apart from other cavavan parks by offering plenty of space. The grounds cover 10 acres and are shaded with large peppermint trees.

In the centre of the resort is a large oval where families can play games like cricket and soccer. Also in the park are two swimming pools (one solar heated), two adventure playgrounds and an undercover area with barbecues and a camper's kitchen.

The range of activities that Mandalay offers is second to none. There's water aerobics, boules tournaments, basketball, table tennis - the list goes on and on.

Depending on the day of the week you turn up, you'll find a bunch of activities and events going on. Rock up on a Friday and you receive complimentary pancakes for breakfast, or arrive on a Saturday and you'll be dancing the night away at the family disco. Any day of the week, you're sure to be spoilt with spectacular beach views.

Accommodation is a major part of the experience at Mandalay Tourist Park, and that's because there's so much to choose from.

There are 150 camping and caravan sites, four ensuite cabins, six beach cottages and over 20 chalets, some even with luxury spa. No matter what your budget or requirements, Mandalay covers it all.

The facts

As a special offer for viewers of The Great Outdoors, the two bedroom chalet is on sale for just $89 per night twin share or you can stay seven nights for $534.
