: The Central Coast is the coastal area located 35km north of Sydney, and begins on the Northern banks of the Hawkesbury River. Traditionally, the Central Coast has been a popular resort for people living in Sydney. The Central Coasts coastline stretches over 80km towards Newcastle. The resort and sleepy township are is only one hours drive from Sydney In Glenworth Valley, enjoy horse riding amongst the bushy coastal hinterland. Bush walking in the various National Parks is popular. Water sports, such as a cruise boating on Brisbane Waters, fishing, diving, and surfing, can be indulged to for weeks around the waterways of the area.

A vast array of Australian native animals and reptiles can be seen in the Australian Reptile Park & Wildlife Sanctuary, Somersby. Here, you can observe and actually touch the exotic animals. The Forest of Tranquillity, near Terrigal, has a huge number of wildflowers and over 124 kinds of birds in a reflective, quiet environment.

The seashore hustle and bustle of Terrigal will allow for some people watching. Terrigal caters for all standards of accommodation and it is a central beach town for visitors to base themselves while exploring the area. Throughout the Central Coast there are various kinds of accommodations which can be selected to suit individual travel purpose.
