Getting There And Away
The airport is 19km (12mi) from the centre of town. On most days there are direct flights to Cardiff from destinations around the UK and continental Europe.
Cardiff is served by direct trains from many other major UK cities such as London, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham. All local buses and regional/national coach services use the central bus station.
Getting Around
Buses link the airport with Cardiff's central bus station at least hourly. The only train service of much use within the city is from Queen St to Cardiff Bay, though Valley Line trains are an excellent way to reach attractions outside the city. Cardiff's flatness makes it ideal for cycling, which is also a good idea as parking is in short supply in the city centre. As for taxis, there are two kinds - the black and white kind are for flagging on the street, those painted other colours are for pre-booking.
