Brewarrina is a modern, progressive town with both an Aboriginal and early settler history.
In the bed of the Darling River are low, stone-walled fish traps used by the Aboriginal fishermen. The Shearer Monument dedicated to outback shearers can be seen at the front of the shire building.
Extensive landscaping and the inclusion of unusual plants and shrubs has enhanced this beautiful setting. The area has a low rainfall.
