Broughton Island is a treeless, windswept, rocky island outcrop located just 20 kilometres from Port Stephens.

Mossy caves, water springs, vertical cliffs and blue opal waters which giant snowy chested sea eagles fiercely protect. A narrow channel runs through the middle of the island, creating sheer walls covered in small sponges which smaller bait fish feed off. Large black rays and grey nurse sharks flock here in the warmer summer months.

The diving around the island is diverse and a myriad of marine life can be spotted on the regular diving tours that go to the island. Several caves and overhangs create aquatic cubby holes for marine life to play in. Spot a grey nurse shark family, wobbegong and port jackson sharks, crayfish, large cod, schools of baitfish and extensive sponge gardens are all part of the package at Broughton Island.
