Hawks Nest is situated at the southern end of the Great Lakes region, and is essentially the gateway to the Myall lakes and River system. Along with its twin town of Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest is situated approx 2.5hrs drive north of Sydney via the Pacific Hwy.

The area is a haven for nature lovers with fishing, bushwalking, camping and dolphin watching all popular pursuits.

Located on the north side of the Port Stephens Harbour, the vast expanse of water (2.5 times larger than Sydney Harbour) means that its also a great destination for boating, and you can always find a little piece of paradise.

The Singing Bridge, aptly named from the sound of the wind as it passes through the rails, connects the towns of Hawkes Nest and Tea Gardens.

Off the coast of Hawks Nest is Broughton Island, popular for deep-sea fishing and diving, part of the Myall Lakes National Park, the island is ideal for bushwalking and picnics.
