The Byron Bay & Northern Rivers region stretches from the Clarence River up to Tweed Heads. Experience breathtaking National Parks, delightful towns and villages, sandy beaches, a thriving artistic community and an abundance of markets and festivals.
Byron Bay is a popular destination attracting backpackers, schoolies, international and Australian tourists with its relaxed atmosphere. The town boasts an array of trendy cafes and award winning restaurants, stunning beaches, unspoilt hinterland and magnificent views.
Just 10mins inland from Byron Bay, Bangalow is a trendy country village with unique heritage style. The 4th Sunday of each month sees people from all around the area flock to the Bangalow Markets, where you’ll find a diverse range of unique produce, food stalls and quirky design pieces.
Ballina Shire is a quieter alternative to Byron Bay but with all the attractions. Home to a domestic airport with flights from both Sydney and Melbourne, the area is scattered with macadamia & coffee plantations, pristine beaches and national parks.
Other activities and points of interest include Crystal Castle near Mullumbimby, fishing trips at Ballina, sky diving in Tyagarah and hot air balloon trips over the region. Mt Warning National Park offers a great hike up the mountain with its magical lookout over national parks and back to the coast of Byron Bay, Tweed Heads and towards Surfers Paradise.Photos

The walk from town up and around the lighthouse is a really good workout. Tip- if your feeling energetic take a left at the Pass turn off and go up around the stairs. For an easier run take the road all the way up and come back down the stairs- the view over Wategos is awesome.
ReplyAnd when you get sick of the beach, Bangalow is a gorgeous little village just down the road from Byron - with some good shops, food and coffee. Worth a morning's poke around.
ReplyMake sure to watch the sunset from The Pass Lookout. Take a picnic and watch the surfers against a backdrop of Mt Warning and the beautiful Bay.
