Weather for Cooma & Eucumbene

Cooma is known as the Capital of the Snowy Mountains with Lake Eucumbene 40km away. The area’s that fall within this region area Adaminiby, Bredbo, Kiandra, Bombala and Cabramurra.

Cooma probably has the most multi cultural history in Australia for a rural town. In 1949 when the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority began, workers came from all over the world to build the project, this is reflected in The International Avenue of Flags representing all the men and women who worked on the project.

With Lake Eucumbene sitting at an elevation of 1200 metres above sea level, it is a pristine alpine lake and one of the best fisheries in the Australian Highlands, holding rainbow trout, brown trout and Atlantic Salmon. It holds 9 times the volume of water that Sydney Harbour does and is regularly restocked with trout by the NSW Fisheries.
