Weather for Cooma

Cooma is known as the Capital of the Snowy Mountains.

Cooma probably has the most multi cultural history in Australia for a rural town. In 1949 when the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority began, workers came from all over the world to build the project, this is reflected in The International Avenue of Flags representing all the men and women who worked on the project.

A popular way to familiarise yourself with Cooma's heritage is to stroll the Lambie Town Walk which begins in Centennial Park and takes in 10km of township and scenic bushland.

Visitors are attracted to the nearby ski fields in winter, and to the cool, fresh air of the Snowy Mountains in summer. They enjoy Cooma's cultural heritage, pioneering history and the town's natural attractions.
