The Bega, Merimbula and Eden region stretches from the rolling valleys to the pristine coastline of NSW’s South Coast.

Bega is the rural centre of the Sapphire Coast, set at the gateway to the rolling pastures of the lush Bega Valley. Country life includes lazy creeks winding their way through paddocks of picture-book cows, and horses grazing against a backdrop of the darkly forested mountains.

Situated on the magnificent waters of Twofold Bay, Eden is a town marked by its unusual history. Once a major whaling district in New South Wales for most of the 19th century and up until 1930, it is now a winter hotspot for the annual migration of whales between Antarctica and the warmer winter waters to the north.

The ideal place for a family holiday, Merimbula boasts a 6km beach which is popular for surfing and swimming. For the best surf in Merimbula, head to the Shore Point Beach or The Bar. For a more relaxing swim with family, check out Mitchies Jetty or Spencer Park - there's a great playground nearby. Merimbula also offers just about every activity you can imagine. For the kids theres Magic Mountain Recreation Park. For the adventurers you can scuba dive, canoe, fish, take a joy flight, hire a boat, surf, cruise on the lake, test your kite boarding skills or join a bus tour to Bournda Island and Wallagoot Lake.

The Bega, Merimbula and Eden region has something for everyone in great proximity to Sydney, only 2 hours drive away.
