The Hawkesbury Highlands, featuring the towns of Kurrajong, Bilpin and Mount Tomah, are a tranquil rural paradise positioned just 90 minutes northwest of Sydney's CBD.

For those seeking a more intimate, crowd free experience than the usual tourist haunts, the Highlands are an undiscovered treasure - prolific birdlife, undisturbed bush, sleepy towns and stunning pastoral land with cattle, alpacas, stud horses and goats grazing in the paddocks.

The Grand Circular Tourist Drive is a fantastic way to explore the region, taking in several of the regions most popular towns, attractions and lookouts. To take the drive from Sydney, cross the Hawkesbury River to North Richmond and continue up Bells Line of Road to Kurrajong.

Close to Sydney, the Hawkesbury Highlands are convenient enough for a weekend away, yet feel completely removed from the hectic pace of inner city life. Local accommodation includes holiday cottages and bed & breakfasts.
