Situated on the Timor Sea, Darwin is the Northern Territory's capital which city overlooks the harbour. Darwin and the surrounding region is renowned for its variety of attractions and natural landscapes including the world famous Territory Wildlife Park, World Heritage-listed Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks.

Darwin is home to an array of cultural markets and festivals including the popular Mindil Beach market and the annual Darwin Fringe festival. The city also has numerous Aboriginal art galleries, theatre entertainment and unspoilt beaches such as Casuarina Beach. Saltwater crocodiles are common in all waterways surrounding Darwin and sometimes found swimming in Darwin Harbour and on local beaches.

Darwin is the perfect base to explore the region including Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park and Katherine Gorge with its Aboriginal rock art, swimming holes, walking tracks and abundant wildlife.

Explore Litchfield National Park by 4WD where you can reach the more remote locations like The Lost City with its fascinating sandstone formations, Tjaynera Falls and nearby Douglas Hot Springs.
