Largely Aboriginal owned, Arnhem Land & The Gulf occupies the north-eastern corner of the Northern Territory stretching over 94,000 square km from Kakadu National Park to the rugged Gulf of Carpentaria.

To visit Arnhem Land permits are required from the Northern Land Council (NLC). Famous for its aboriginal culture and heritage and unique National Parks there is much to enjoy from fishing, bushwalking and birdwatching to 4WD adventures, diving or camping.

Towards the east of Arnham Land, Gove Harbour is a favourite stop-off point for yachting, boat cruises and diving. Further north on the Gove Peninsula at Nhulunbuy there are a few tour operators offering fishing, island safaris, self guided boat trips and diving tours.

On the Coburg Peninsula, Gurig National Park and Cobourg Marine Park with its huge variety of marine and wildlife is a destination not to be missed. The park is an area of conservation with its sandy beaches, mangroves, lagoons and coral reef.
