Bribie Island is a 34 km long sand island located in the north-western area of Moreton Bay and is the only island in Queensland accessible by bridge from the mainland. Only 45 minutes from Brisbane, the Island is a popular destination for day-trippers and longer holiday makers alike, offering all the advantages of a beach side holiday within close proximity of the city.

86 percent of Bribie Island is under protection by national and marine parks, so it is a great place for marine animals such as turtles, dugong and dolphins. Emus, kangaroos and if you're lucky, even dingos can be spotted on the island, along with over 300 species of native birds.

The Island is a watersports mecca, and boasts many beautiful beaches that are popular spots for windsurfing, sailing, boating, surfing, scuba diving or simply relaxing. Swim in the sheltered waters of Woorim Ocean Beach, home to the Bribie Island Surf Life Saving Club, enjoy a BBQ at White Patch Beach's beautful picnic grounds, or hire a boat at Sylvan Beach and spend the day fishing. Red Beach is another popular fishing spot, and has a great walking track that leads to the fantastic views off Woody Point.

Bongaree is the largest 'village' on the ISland and offers great a variety of cafes and restaurants, great shopping, and its own beautiful white sandy beach and views of the Spectacular Glasshouse Mountains.
