Situated 30km from Brisbane in the Moreton Bay Marine Park, Macleay Island is 6.5km long and 4km at its widest point, making it the second largest of the 4 bay islands.

The island is rich in history, dating back to both Aboriginals and Europeans. It was regarded as a meeting place of spiritual importance for the women of local Aboriginal tribes.

There are approx 2000 residents on the Island, and the community is well supported with a primary school, ambulance stations and local groups such as Rotary and Lions clubs.

Test your skills at the golf course, play a relaxed game of lawn bowls or enjoy the glorious waters surrounding the island. There is also a delightful arts complex consisting of a studio, gallery and pottery shed.

Pats Park is a popular spot for families, and features BBQs, swings, and a swimming enclosure. Potts Point, at the northern tip of the island, is also a good spot to while away the day.
