Mermaid Waters is situated in a quiet area on the magnificent Gold Coast, in sunny Queensland. Mermaid Waters is bordered by Broadbeach to the north, Mermaid Beach to the east, Miami to the south and Robina to the west.
The suburb obtains it name from the Mermaid, a ship that brought surveyor John Oxley to the area in 1823. Oxley christened the beach where he landed as "Mermaid Beach". The adjacent area to the west eventually became known as "Mermaid Waters".
Mermaid Waters is close to the patrolled surf and swimming beaches, Conrad Jupiters Casino, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Movieworld, Dreamworld and Seaworld.Photos
