Weather for Rainbow Bay

On the South Queensland Coast at the border to NSW, Rainbow Bay is a peaceful seaside holiday destination known for one of the world’s longest surf point breaks at Snapper Rocks.

Located on the headland to the east of Coolangatta, Rainbow Bay is one of the most popular surf spots on the Gold Coast with its sheltered cove and patrolled swimming beach it is also perfect for families.

There is plenty to do in the area with snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing and boat cruises as well as fishing tours along the Tweed River or from the beach where you can catch Snapper and Bream.

Explore the cycling and walking trails in the area or take a leisurely walk along the beach and boardwalk. Point Danger viewing platform and Captain Cook Lighthouse at Tweed Heads offer magnificent coastal views and opportunities to see humpback whales as they migrate along the coast.

Coolangatta and Tweed Heads are nearby with ample accommodation options to suit all budgets and entertainment including licensed clubs, restaurants, shopping and cafes.
