The historic township of Canungra is renowned as a fertile and productive environment with a diverse range of wineries, eateries, accommodation and shops.

Canungra flourished in the mid to late 1800's as one of Australia’s largest timber mills. After the logging of this beautiful area ceased, the region became first-class beef cattle and dairy country as well as a natural eco-tourism location.

Canungra is the ideal place to experience country hospitality and a laid back, relaxing rural atmosphere. The township is also a gathering place for Hang gliders, Birdwatchers, Bushwalkers and Para gliders that frequent the area, taking advantage of what the Canungra Valley has to offer.

Canungra serves as the gateway to Tamborine Mountain, Beechmont, World Heritage Lamington National Park and the Scenic Rim. The area is full of natural wonders, waterfalls, rivers, amazing lookouts and beautiful bushwalks.

Be sure to discover Laheys Tramway Tunnel, a sandstone tunnel pierced in 1901 that remains a testament to the ingenuity of the early pioneers.
