Runaway Bay is a northern suburb close to Paradise Point leading down the coast to Labrador.

The Southport Broadwater and canal homes are a feature of this stunning suburb so boating and other sports in the waterways remain a major leisure and competition activity.

For some retail therapy, head to one of the shopping complexes in the vicinity to find a range of boutique and chain stores, fantastic coffee shops and eateries. Surfers Paradise is only 13km down the coastline.

The modern marina offers some popular restaurants and cafes where you can look out upon the opulent vessels and the ferries with connections to South Stradbroke Island.

A major sports centre is situated here and attracts the most elite athletes with a pool, gym, athletics track and weight lifting facilities.

Runaway Bay also has skating facilities, plenty of accommodation, bike ways and houseboat cruising. The diverse range of facilities and attractions to Runaway Bay are a tribute to this unique place and its enduring appeal as a holiday destination with something for everyone.
