Southport is recognised as the main business district on the Gold Coast situated across the Nerang River flowing from Surfers Paradise.

Southport is centrally located to the Gold Coast's world famous surf beaches and theme parks including Wet N Wild, Movie World, Dream World and Sea World which is located on The Spit.

There is something to do for the whole family, with childrens play areas, swimming pools, and the Southport Pool, used by elite swimmers and divers for training.

Major shopping centres including the Australia Fair huge complex and a mall offer busy precincts. Nearby Parklands showground is home of the annual Gold Coast Show, produce markets on the second and fourth Saturday of the month, motor shows and many exhibitions and events.
