Once a conventional rural shire, Nebo is under taking significant regional expansion with eight equipped coalmines, following the addition of Moorvale, Hail Creek and Millenium mines. In total, Nebo Shire has capacity for another five coalmines.
Country interests are based on agricultural crops such as sorghum, sugar and grain, cattle grazing. Economic and business augmentation and development within the Shire is unparalleled.
Nebo Campdraft - Be a part of two real Australian outback traditions - the rodeo and bush campdraft. The annual Nebo Campdraft is the largest in Australia and both of these legendary events attract competitors from throughout Queensland. The rodeo is held each May and the campdraft is the first weekend in July.
