The spectacular World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest lies between the mountains and the coastline in tropical Far North Queensland. This unique rainforest is home to the largest number species of plants that are threatened with extinction in the world, and is one of the oldest forests on the face of the planet.

The township of Daintree is a picturesque little town packed with unique local arts, crafts and produce and inhabited by an eclectic mix of unique individuals. Soak up the relaxed ambiance and experience the laid-back tropical lifestyle of the village while cruising local shops and cafes, or for those who like a little more excitement, take a guided rainforest walk or glide through the canopy on a network of roped harnesses.

The little town is perched on a bend of the Daintree River, renowned for its abundance of tropical wildlife, particularly its healthy population of saltwater crocodiles. The huge reptiles are an amazing sight when encountered in their natural habitat, and can be viewed from the famous "Crocodile Express", a local tour operator that has cruised the Daintree River for over 20 years. From the safety of the boat, you can watch crocodiles sunning themselves on the mangrove lined banks or gliding through the water.

For those who wish to explore more of Far North Queensland's World Heritage-listed Rainforset, around an hour drive north of the Daintree is Cape Tribulation, home to more spectacular rainforest and pristine beaches. The only cable ferry in tropical Australia, the Daintree Ferry allows cars to cross the Daintree River to travel further north and provides the only southern access into the lowland Daintree Rainforest.
