A short 20-minute drive from the city takes you to the Adelaide Hills. Here you’ll find Adelaide's pantry - market gardens and orchards share the hillside with vineyards supplying more than 30 wineries in the region.

Hahndorf is one of the regions most popular villages. Australia's oldest surviving German settlement, there’s a range of smallgood outlets and German bakeries lining the town's bustling main street.

One of the fastest growing regional centres in Australia, Mount Barker is the retail hub of the Adelaide Hills. Visitors to the area should definitely take the Mount Barker Summit Scenic Drive, which takes in the Summit Conservation Park and the beautiful Laratinga Wetlands.

Aldgate has a great range of good eateries and offers the visitor an array of crafts and fine arts that is hard to beat. Its also popular for the tourist or day-tripper looking for something different in a day out in the Hills.
