Mount Lofty Summit is the highest peak closest to Adelaide and in the Mount Lofty Ranges. At 710.1 metres above sea level, this grandstand position provides ever changing views of Adelaide and surrounds and is often referred to as the 'window' to South Australia
The Visitor Centre incorporates an accredited information centre providing, free of charge, information on the sights and places in the Adelaide Hills, and the rest of the state. The Mount Lofty Summit Restaurant and Café/Bar offer dining with spectacular views from floor to ceiling windows out over the spectacular Adelaide region by day and the twinkling city lights and stars by night. It is fully licensed and open for lunch 7 days and A La Carte Dinner 5 nights-from Wednesday to Sunday.

Mt Lofty is an area is rich in aboriginal and European cultural history. Just a short distance away is the Cleland Wildlife Park where you can walk freely amongst the wildlife. Come up close and personal with a cute koala in a daily koala session. Walking trails allow you to traverse the summit. A popular walk is from the city via Waterfall Gully. Done in the morning, it works up an appetite for breakfast at the summit.
