Located 25km west of Launceston, Westbury is a classic Georgian village of 1300 people. Set amongst hedgerows and lanes it is remincent of old England. Aside from being surrounded by beautiful countryside there are many interesting attractions here. Among them are the Culzean gardens established in the 1840s, the Pearns Steam World collection of hundred-year-old agricultural machinery, the National Trust’s White House built in the 1840s, quaint antique shops and the Westbury Maze. The Maze and Tea Rooms are a much-loved destination for the thousands of people who come to enjoy the challenge. Made from over 3000 bushes with 2 metre high hedges and paths covering a distance of over 1 kilometre. All of this is complemented by an adjoining formal garden courtyard.
