Weather for Mornington Peninsula

Mornington Peninsula, or “The Peninsula” as it is known by locals, is approx 45km to the South East of Melbourne. Primarily a tourist town, the population swells in the summer months.

Surrounded by Port Phillip, Bass Straight and Western Port, the area has extensive beaches with both calm water and open sea. The island has 2 areas of National Park, State Forests, Wetlands, extensive parklands along Bass Straight coast line and several well known wineries. Not forgetting the restaurants , cafes and galleries.

Head into the Hinterland to discover wineries and wetlands; The Western side of the Peninsula offers spectacular rocky headlands and wild open beaches; The Port Phillip Bay side of the island showcases the millionaire’s suburb of Portsea and lovely sheltered waterways and the Southern Tip of the Peninsula is the end of the road with cathedral-like tree canopies and holiday homes with spectacular water views.
