Just over an hour from Melbourne is the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula, with spectacular coastlines, lush farmlands, and wineries

Travellers on every type of budget flock to the Bellarine Peninsula for fine dining, the grandeur of beautifully restored hotels, stunning natural features, the beach, waters ports, a picnic under the giant foreshore pines, the village charm or a round of golf.

Encompassing the small townships of Drysdale, Portarlington, Point Lonsdale, Queenscliff, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads, each bursting with character and charm hardly 10 kilometers apart. A tour around this beautiful coastal region offers a diverse Victorian coast holiday with no shortage of accommodation options and local attractions.

Visit in January and you will catch Portarlington's annual mussel festival, where the locals celebrate the abundance of shellfish in their off-shore mussel farms.

On the other side of the peninsula you will find Barwon Heads, the renowned location of the popular Australian television series "Sea Change" and a great spot for water sports. Across the Barwon river is Ocean Grove, tin-town to Barwon Heads and home to the Oakdene Winery.

At Wallington on the Bellarine Highway you will find a great selection of family fun at Adventure Park with its huge Splash & Play water park which is the largest in the state. And at Amaze'N Games, you can get lost in one of the largest mazes in Australia. Just across at Bellarine Adventure Golf you will find a 36-hole golf course that will challenge even the most dedicated golfer.
