Merrijig lies in the Delatite River valley, 15 minutes from Mansfield and the popular alpine resort of Mt Buller, within Victoria's High Country and is one of Australia's best kept secrets.

There is much to do in the area with horse riding being a popular activity. What better way to discover what the amazing High Country has to offer! If horse riding isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other activities to choose from, such as heading out in the 4WD, Hot Air Ballooning, helicopter flights and tasting the food and wine the area has to offer.

There is plenty of accommodation from self contained cottages and motels to the Grand Mercure Pinnacle Valley Resort.

Because of Merrijig’s close proximity to Mt Buller, it is a great base for those wishing to explore the alpine region in Winter, without the hustle and bustle of the main villages.

The area offers beautiful scenery and the well known Australian movie, Man from Snowy River was filmed to the north of the town.

The average temperatures in Winter are a chilly 3 - 10 degrees and 10 - 29 degrees in Summer.

The Merrijig Rodeo is held on the Labour Day Weekend which falls in March. It is a great family friendly event with stalls and entertainment.
