Weather for Kilmore, Wallan & Seymour

A historic area with some of Victoria's oldest inland settlements located just 60 kms north of Melbourne nestled in the Great Dividing Range and the Goulburn Valley on the Northern Highway.

Kilmore is Victoria's oldest inland town, boasting historic 19th century "bluestone" buildings, Whitburgh Cottage, the Tramways Museum displaying heritage trams dating back to 1906 and the old Kilmore gaol, built in 1859. Just south is the small country town of Wallan, nestled within the farming country of the lower Goulburn Valley, it is the fastest growing town in Mitchell Shire, and serves as a link from the city and the surrounding rural townships.

Also in this region is beautiful Seymour, found on the banks of Vitoria's largest river, the Goulburn River, was built in the mid 1800's to provide a "New Crossing Place" for those travelling between Sydney and Melbourne. Mentioned in the Australian version famous 1960's song "I've Been Everywhere!", Seymour is a town that boasts the pride and charm of true early Australian heritage.

Nearby is the beautiful Mount Disappointment State Forest, straddling the magnificent Great Dividing Range. The summit's namesake is owed to the disappointment of 19th century explorers when they reached the peak and could not see Port Phillip Bay due to the dense forest. The area is beautiful nonetheless, boasting a driving trail as well as great walking tracks, and is home to many species of native wildlife.
