Weather for Phillip Island & Surrounds

Approximately 2 hours drive from Melbourne lies Phillip Island and the beautiful south-east coastal region of Victoria. A spectacular holiday destination, the area is made of small coastal towns, beautiful stretches of coastline and an abundance of natural attractions.

Explore the small fishing village of San Remo, a popular holiday spot right on the entrance of Western Port, before heading over the bridge to the picturesque town of Newhaven on Phillip Island. Newhaven provides easy access to Churchill Island and beautiful Cape Woolamai, and is a great spot for surfing.

Aside from the area’s natural beauty, Phillip Island is perhaps best known for it’s population of Little Penguins. For over 80 years, the daily sunset penguin parade from the ocean to their burrows on the island has attracted millions of visitors.

Across the bay from Phillip Island is the “island outback” of French Island, one of Victoria’s most remote destinations. Comprised of over 11, 100 hectares of national park, the island has a diverse environment and is home to a plethora of native wildlife. French Island is only accessible by a short ferry ride from the Stony Point Station on Phillip Island.
