The Yarra Valley Wine Region is one of Australia’s most beautiful regions, with the Yarra River meandering through vineyards, vast flower farms and lovely townships such as Yarra Glen and Warburton.
Down to the Southwest the Dandenong Ranges are characterised by alpine vistas, fine gardens and unique shops. Stop for a Devonshire Tea, take a ride on the Puffing Billy Railway, or explore the Healesville Sanctuary – which showcases more than 200 species of Australian wildlife.
To the North of the Yarra Valley you will find Marysville & the Mountains. In February 2009 most of this area was severely impacted by devastating bushfires. Marysville has since re-opened to the general public and the slow process of rebuilding has commenced. This part of the region is nestled in a landscape of ancient mystic mountains, lush forests, ferns, sparkling rivers and streams and spectacular waterfalls. It is a place to relax and unwind.Photos
