Broome is surrounded by the azure waters of the Indian Ocean with pindan cliffs, pristine beaches and tourist destinations such as Eighty Mile Beach with its endless stretches of white sand lapping onto turquoise waters. This beach is ideal for fishing, bird watching and ultimately loved for the privacy it provides but also offers camping, caravan and cabin accommodation available to those wishing to holiday here.
Another infamous beach, Cable Beach, lures us with 22km of beautiful white sands and incredible sunsets providing visitors the ultimate backdrop for camel tour rides that run daily along this beach.
Just a few minutes drive out of the centre of Broome is the Willie Creek Pearl Farm, a multi award winning tour company focusing on today's unique cultured pearling process and receiving over 20,000 visitors annually.
On the eastern shores of Broome are the waters of Roebuck Bay which is the site of the famous Staircase to the Moon - something that occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats of Roebuck Bay at extremely low tide, creating the optical illusion of a staircase reaching for the moon. The staircase occurs three nights each month from March to October.
Ancient dinosaur footprints of more than 120 million old can be viewed at Gantheaume Point, only 5 minutes drive from Broome. This fascinating place continues to impress with more vibrant coastal scenery made up of red cliffs and crystal waters and is a popular spot for kayaking, exploring and more.Photos
