Nestled in the Darling Range, close to Perth, the regions Mediterranean climate is ideal with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers.

The valleys are the main places where the vines are grown. The valleys have a cover of alluvial soils that are ample for vine growth. Some vines are also grown in the gravelly soils of the slopes.
