The first vines of the Perth Hills Wine Region is scattered within numerous boutique wineries and vineyards, many which are centred around Mundaring.
Nestled in the Darling Range, close to Perth, the region’s Mediterranean climate is ideal with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers.
The valleys are the main places where the vines are grown. The valleys have a cover of alluvial soils that are ample for vine growth. Some vines are also grown in the gravelly soils of the slopes.
The Perth Hills wine region is a perfect getaway from the summer heat in the city. There are many cellar doors, charming restaurants and fantastic views of the ranges. A great way to experience it is by taking the Bickley Wine Trail.
