Weather for Peel

The Peel region is one of the nine regions of Western Australia. It consists of the City of Mandurah, and the Shires of Boddington, Murray, Serpentine-Jarrahdale and Waroona.

The economy of the region is dominated by mining and mineral processing, along with agricultural, viticultural and equine industries. Before European settlement, the Peel region was inhabited by Indigenous Australians, specifically the Pindjarup dialect group of the Noongar people.

The Peel Wine Region first came into being when early Italian immigrants first planted vines in the 1930's. However, the region did not really begin to develop viticulturally until the 1970's. Grape varieties include Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Verdelho, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
