Margaret River is renowned for its natural beauty, delicious wines and gourmet food! Once a cruisy surfie town, the area has now evolved into the ultimate getaway for food, wine and nature lovers.
The diversity of the region has been synonymous with putting the region on the map. From rich coastal heaths and spectacular Karri Forests to barefoot surfers relaxing alongside sophisticates.
Margaret River itself is a picturesque town perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Augusta today remains relatively untouched and undiscovered, it is where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet. With a mild Mediterranean climate, this has to be one of the best holiday locations in the Margaret River. Steeped in history and surrounded by natural beauty there is plenty to do. The water and pristine beaches are perfect for swimming, diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing and fishing, whilst the natural beauty of the area offers much to explore. Check out the ancient cave-carved Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge, the awe inspiring Karri forests or sit back and watch the migration of Humpbacks, Southern Right and the endangered Blue Whales during May through to December.
There is much timber history in the region and this is evident in the small towns of Karridale and Witchcliffe.
There are over 200 vineyards in the area and 90 wineries, surfing spots galore and spectacular natural scenery something for absolutely everyone.Photos
