Located in Southeast Asia, Malaysia is a popular holiday destination for many reasons including its beautiful islands, spectacular hinterland, and a dynamic capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Imagine hiking the through jungles and capturing a glimpse of one of Malaysia’s endangered Rhino’s or even a beautiful orangutan. Or maybe you would prefer to dive off the world class reef of the countries picture perfect shores.

Malaysia is a country that is somewhat harmonious even though the pull of ethnic and religious diversity is strong. The majority of Malaysians practice Islam and the call to prayer can be heard throughout the country five times a day. This wonderful diversity is partly to blame for the countries incredible culinary splendors, found all the way from the Cameron Highlands with its tea and strawberry plantations, to the city streets of Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur.

The Blue Mosque, or the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, is a splendid attraction which overlooks the Garden of Islamic Arts in Selangor. This spiritual sanctuary is a must see with nine galleries full of Islamic arts such as paintings, calligraphy, sculptures, and architecture. The structure of the mosque incorporates Malay and Islamic architecture and can house up to 200 000 worshippers. Also not to be missed are the Batu Caves located just outside of Kuala Lumpur.
