Sumner is a coastal seaside suburb just 12km from Christchurch City. Renowned as one of Christchurch's most popular destinations for its safe swimming, good surfing, and relaxing atmosphere.

Sandy shores, designated surf lifesaving areas during the summer months, and activities such as kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing and beach volleyball, make it a mecca for ocean lovers.
