Papua New Guinea essentially makes up the eastern half of the island known as New Guinea. This tropical paradise offers some of the world’s best scuba diving spots and natural wonders of both land and sea.
With deep foreboding jungles and mountainous landscapes, it’s no wonder that some New Guinea tribes where completely unaware that other tribes had lived beyond their part of the island for centuries.
The Kokoda trail is a sentimental site and there are very well-structured trekking and camping tours available. Many visitors pay their respects here by walking the trail as the Australian soldiers had done, back in 1942.
The country is an adventurist’s dream as its tourism infrastructure is almost nonexistent. Travellers are presented with fresh and authentic experiences making Papua New Guinea a true treasure of the southern hemisphere.
