The all-pervading atmosphere in the tranquil and classically beautiful Cambridge comes from the thriving arts, culture, contemporary thought, knowledge (and playfulness) of the universities.

To compare the two scholarly greats, take note that Cambridge is much smaller and has a charming prettiness not found in Oxford. Far from keeping your head in the study books, the outdoor world is plentiful in Cambridge. Many of the colleges are on the River Cam and ‘the Backs’, the attractive lawns and gardens that slope down to the river’s edge, are a highlight of any visit. Join the locals for a spot of punting (boating) to cruise down the River Cam and enjoy the most famous aspect of the town. If this isn't your thing, sit back and enjoy the water views from a quayside pub.

You will find endless joy in wondering along the historic cobblestone streets of Cambridge of visiting any of the 31 epically beautiful colleges- The King's College and the gothic King's College Chapel being the absolute MUST.

There are too many places of interest to list here but some of Cambridge’s highlights include the Fitzwilliam Museum, which houses an impressive collection of Egyptian, Roman & Greek antiquities, and works of art by Rembrandt, Titian, Constable and Turner, amongst others. The Saxon Church of St. Ben’s predated the university but has now been amalgamated with it by a 16th century passageway, which links it to Corpus Christi College.
