Hadleigh is a village just southeast of the picturesque town Kersey. The village is somewhat bigger than its aesthetically pleasing neighbour.
Attractions include the church of St. Mary's, which is right in the town centre, legend has it that Guthrum (the Danish chieftain) was buried beneath the south aisle, but his remains have never been discovered. The half-timbered Guildhall dating back to 1438 is in wonderful condition and serves cream teas in the garden during the summer months.
The ornate Deanery Tower is a gatehouse whose palace was never completed; it dates from the 15th century and has an interesting history, worth paying a visit to.
