Diss is an extremely attractive town on the fringes of Norfolk that is probably best known for its mere, or lake. Covering nearly six acres it is rich in plant & wildlife and you can fish for carp & tench by arrangement with Diss Angling Club.

The buildings are a pleasing mix of Tudor, Georgian and Victorian architecture, and the town is now a designated conservation area. The town really comes alive on Fridays when the outdoor markets come to town and the weekly auction of antiques & artworks takes place in the local saleroom.

If al fresco music performances are your sort of thing, check-out the Park Pavilion, which plays host to amateur and professional jazz, folk and pop concerts. To find out more about this quaint town head to the Diss Museum, which is housed in the historic Old Shambles building.
