Bordering Hyde Park to the north lies the snooty Knightsbridge, home to the world famous Harvey Nichols and Harrods stores. The once family grocery business of Harrods has such fame that it is now among the most popular tourist destinations in London, although there is better shopping elsewhere.
This chic area has a great selection of upmarket bars, restaurants and hotels, though if your credit card can stand it, a trip to Harvey Nic's Fifth Floor Bar & Restaurant is the absolutely fabulous thing to do.
From Knightsbridge head south down Sloane Street, which is lined with the stores of the most famous luxury brands in the world, and you will reach Sloane Square – gateway to Chelsea and famous King's Road.
