Kilburn is primarily residential, with few major visitor attractions. Ten or fifteen years ago Kilburn was known as a very rough area, racially very diverse. However with the property market going sky-high the area soon followed West Hempstead into becoming a desirable place to live.
The Tricycle Theatre, on the High Road, is well worth a visit if you are an Art House cinema buff. They have local and international shows all year round and they also have a fully licensed bar. Gaumont State building is definitley worth visiting, this enormous building was constructed in 1937, it is the largest ever cinema auditorium with a massive seating capacity of well over 4,000 people. Today the building is used as a bingo hall but still attracts architectural enthusiasts from all around the world.
Kensal Rise and Kensal Green lie a little to the East, and if you find yourself in this neck of the woods you could do worse than drop into the Paradise By Way Of Kensal Green, or Paradise for short, where they stock an impressive array of wines and beers, as well as offering a BYO policy to diners.
