St John's Wood is a posh area Northwest of London. The Lord’s Cricket Ground is a must see for anyone with a fondness for the most gentlemanly of sports. It has a small museum where you can peruse various treasures amassed over the years; including a stuffed sparrow, which met a dramatic end after a particularly powerful delivery in 1936.
Anyone with even the smallest interest in popular culture will be familiar with Abbey Road in St Johns Wood, immortalised by The Beatles on their album cover where they stride across the zebra crossing. If you wait your turn along with the multitude of fans who flock to the infamous Abbey Road recording studios, you can recreate a piece of musical history, and leave your mark on the wall which stands as a graffitied tribute to the Fab Four.
There isnt much in terms of pubs and restaurants in St Johns Wood but walk along Blenheim Terrace and you'll find the lovely Gascogne restaurant & bar and also the Drum & Monkey pub, which has an attractive beer garden out front, which is particularly pleasant on a summer’s night.
