Ealing is a laid back west London suburb. If you happen to find yourself here on Saturday mornings make for the fantastic 'farmers market' in west Ealing. If this leaves you thirsty or peckish, you could do worse than checkout either the Pizza on the Greenor or the North Star on Ealing Broadway, which is a fantastic London boozer.
The world’s oldest broadcaster, the BBC, and the world’s oldest film studios, Ealing Studios have made Ealing their base. The Television Centre at Wood Lane was built in 1960. It was designed by Graham Dawbarn, and was the first ever purpose built TV studio.
There is an interesting backstage tour of the studios, available to anyone over the age of nine.Ealing common is a lovely place to relax on a fine day and attracts many visitors. The grounds are used for sporting events, running, walking and cycling and hold several large open-air festivals at the height of summer.
