In Wokingham, just a few miles outside Reading, a visit to the Market Hall will reveal a number of little known old portraits of the Royal Family.
The name is derived from the Saxon chief, Wocca, who ruled this area. While it has been a small unassuming town throughout the centuries of its existence, in medieval and Tudor times it was well known for its bell foundry and in the 18th century for bull-bating.
