Melbourn is surrounded by fantastic scenery of the Cambridgeshire countryside it is located in the green belt amongst the Chiltern Hills on the river Mel. Many places of interest around the area include the RSPB lakes, Shepreth wildlife sanctuary, gorgeous walk along the river Mel (on which you can see the Meldrith Water Mill), and you can visit the gorgeous Therfield Heath -which are the grass covered hills between Royston and Therfield.
Today the village has a thriving, growing community with Melbourn being an easy commuting distance from London, but being out in the picturesque countryside away from the hustle and bustle of the hectic city.
Melbourn is located north of Royston, which is a quiet market town in North Herefordshire. If you wanted more activities to do, the historic city of Cambridge is less than 10 miles away and there is a Park and Ride service at junction 11 of the M11 motorway providing free parking the easy access to Cambridge town centre.
