Lacock is a beautiful little village with twisted streets, gabled roofs and timber buildings. The houses span the centuries, dating from medieval times to the 18th century, but none is later than about 1800. The historic streets were used in the popular TV series and film Pride and Prejudice.
Lacock Abbey offers much to see, it has a museum, which is dedicated to the work of Henry Fox Talbot, the pioneer of photography who once lived here. The Abbey is run by the National Trust and often appears in period dramas. It was featured in the recent Harry Potter films.
