Merton

Merton is a small borough west of Croydon, the town has a real community feel about it and they hold many events within the town bringing everyone together.

Merton is where Lord Nelson came from, you are able to visit the lovely town church which was built in1913/14 on the day of his death to mark the anniversary. Merton Place, the Admirals Place stood near the site and the church lies on ground formerly part of Nelson’s estate. Nearby are the Nelson Gardens Recreation Ground.

As owners of a large acreage of green space, Merton council has decalred 13 Nature Reserves in the area for the protection of wildlife, so it is a beautiful place to visit if you enjoy walking.
